The Family Pets

The Family Pets

We have two cats, and they are our babies.  People avoid getting on the topic of cats with me because I can't stop once I start.  Seriously, you know how people talk about their children and all of the cute things they do?  Well, I do that with my cats.  I don't act like they are my children or anything weird like that, but the cats definitely hold an important place in our family.

Because they are so important, my husband and I have included them in our emergency plan.  If there is some kind of an emergency, we need to do what we can to make sure they are safe too.  When disasters and emergencies happen, you hear too much about misplaced animals.  Losing a pet can be traumatic, especially if you've also gone through an awful experience like a disaster or other emergency.

By simply preparing a pet emergency plan, you will have the foundation in place to keep your pets safe.  From pet decals on your windows to a pet first aid kit, there are a lot of small things you can do to protect your pets.
